Professional Kneads wants to ensure a complete treatment process to ensure effective recovery from injury. This is based on the following:
Assessment
Firstly, the practitioner will assess you to understand the problem.
To do this, she will take a detailed account of your complaint, discuss any medical issues, and conduct a thorough physical analysis.
Diagnosis
From considering all the information in the assessment, the practitioner will then make a differential diagnosis and list the main points of concern.
Treatment Plan
Your practitioner will then provide any suitable treatment and provide you with an individualized rehabilitation plan.
Review
If necessary, the practitioner may suggest you attend another session. Professional Kneads holds integrity at the heart of her practice and will only ever suggest another session if it has benefit to you, or you request more. We will never ask you to attend more sessions than necessary.
Individualised program related to evidenced-based therapeutic interventions and exercise with the plan being monitored and modified where needed.
This could include exercise rehabilitation, graded activity, manual therapy, workplace assessment and modification, massage, taping, cryotherapy, and electrotherapy.
A holistic approach, considering the whole needs of the individual to allow optimal recovery and placing the patient at the centre of their own care.
What sets sports rehabilitators apart?
The aim of the program is to return patients to high levels of pre-injury function.
Sports/Deep tissue massage:
A form of manual therapy, and includes deep tissue massage, soft tissue release, and trigger point therapy. Some might find it uncomfortable, but it is very effective at restoring optimal muscle length and decreasing tension within muscle tissue.
Sports massage not only benefits athletes but can help anyone. It can help individuals who experience aches and pains on a daily basis e.g from sitting at a desk all day, or driving long distances through to those who have physically demanding jobs. It can also help your mental well-being, as emotional stress and anxiety can often produce similar symptoms to that of a sportsperson.
